About Pryncyp

Our organisation was founded in 2023 by serviceman and lawyer Masi Nayyem, and human rights defender and volunteer Liubov Halan. Initially, our focus was on protecting the rights of wounded military personnel, but later we expanded our activities to advocate for the rights of all military personnel in their interactions with the state. Therefore, we work to ensure that our state:

Provides high-quality and professional services for military personnel
Digitises the processes faced by our beneficiaries
Implements a high-quality healthcare system for military personnel and veterans
Ensures an effective military justice system that guarantees the human rights of military personnel

Our mission

All our actions are aimed at strengthening the institutional capacity of state authorities. The defence capability of Ukraine is the benchmark of our organisation. One of its key components is military personnel, whose rights must be guaranteed and protected. This is the mission of our organisation – military personnel protected by the state.

Strengthening Human Capital in Military Service

We are working on systemic changes in personnel policy, healthcare, and the protection of human rights in the context of service — so that everyone who chose to defend the country has dignified, fair, and predictable conditions of service. Our goals:

Improved personnel policy and human resource management within the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine

Improved healthcare policy for service members

Fundamental human rights and the rights of service members are protected by capable institutions and guaranteed by law

An Effective Support System for Veterans and Their Family Members After Service

We are working to ensure that the state implements an updated veterans' policy that reflects today's realities. Our goals:

Veterans' policy is data-driven and reflects real needs

Quality medical support is accessible to all beneficiaries

An effective system of social services is in place for veterans and their families

Law enforcement policy does not violate the rights of discharged veterans

Protecting the Rights of the Most Vulnerable Categories of Service Members

We are working to protect the rights of the most vulnerable categories of service members and their families during and after service — the wounded and sick, those released from captivity, foreign nationals serving in the army, and those who joined the military under the special conscription (UDZ) procedure. Our goals:

Strengthened capacity of institutions protecting vulnerable categories

The Principle's Pro Bono lawyers' community provides quality legal support

State policies do not discriminate against vulnerable categories
